Fare thee well Cameltoe!
The entrepreneurial spirit is unpredictable. What drives one person's passion to create can be a lifelong vision, a whim, or perhaps, like Shannon, Camelflage inventor and president, a desire to help a cause and make something better. Shannon describes herself as a "cameltoe advocate" and created a line of undies that erase the problem.
It all started when Shannon caught glimpse of herself in a mirror during yoga class. She invented undies with a sewn in moisture-wicking panel that gives women a smooth look in front and back. Part of the proceeds from sales go toward Easter Seals.
I just could not resist the article that first appeared in the Sun Sentinel.
(in researching this article, I found way too many pictures of Celebrity Camel toe. I just didnt feel they were appropriate to use as illustration because I didn't want to single out any particular celeb for an issue that seems to be industry wide. therefore I went with something more abstract that I found here.)

Felicity Huffman on Madonna's Undies
I was going through an old MORE magazine from September 2008. Felcity Huffman graced the cover and also reveals a funny underwear story.

Yearly Exam...DONE!
Yesterday I celebrated National Cervical Health Awareness Month and got my annual pap test. I got all dressed up for the occasion -- cotton gown open in the front. Had to edit the photo lest I "bare" the nickname Elaine Benes acquired in one of the best Seinfeld episodes eva!
Girls....if you are due for your yearly exam and have not called, I am personally extending the celebration through Valentine's Day. So show yourself some love!

CELEBRATING CERVICAL HEALTH & WELL-DESIGNED DOCTOR OFFICES
As a stylist, I take note of the way all spaces are decorated...doctor's offices included. Not that the decor can make or break a good doctor-patient relationship, but it can definitely influence the start of one.
Years ago I went to a mental health counselor. Our hour long session was just OK as I was distracted by the uninspiring office decor. As she got to know me through her questioning, I made mental notes on the faggy wallpaper border and dreadful fake flowers. Not that there's a proven correlation between one's taste and skill, but I did not go back for a second visit.
Just the opposite occurred when I entered SoBe Gyn on Lincoln Road in Miami. I entered a light infused space filled where white slip-covered furniture and handsome dark cabinetry is accented with pink cashmere-like throws. More spa and less medical, patients dress in cotton robes and are treated to fuzzy socks. I hear serene music rather than breaking news.
Check out SoBe Gyn on the Miami news.
In this case, the soothing and unique atmosphere is compatible with the dedicated and compassionate service. Jane DeNight, an advanced registered nurse practitioner, presides at SoBe Gyn. She is a beacon of light, not only with a coif of super blond hair, but as a leader in womens reproductive health. She, along with Tamika Felder and Michelle Whitlock, and many others are muses in the crusade for cervical health.
The National Cervical Cancer Coalition is an amazing resource.
And chicas... go get your yearly pap tests. Mine's on the 27th!

Touche (pronounced Tou-shay) O'Shea
Samara O'Shea is one of my favorite authors and thinkers. She is also a cool quirky woman who resides in my hometown, so beyond the nod of total approval, she gets the nod of nostalgia.
When Flash for a Cause was heating up, I asked Samara to write a piece for our project. She sent me "A Pair of Porcelain Panties." She rewrote the headline as "Flash Your Undies for a Good Cause" and had it published in The Huffington Post this week.
Thank you Samara.

DISBAR OR DISBRA
I truly love how our undergarments can cause quite a stir almost anywhere. Read about the Miami attorney who could not visit her client because of her bra and then, the lack thereof.

I have a feeling Attorney Brittney Horstmann will be in the morning show lineup this week.

Cosabella & The City
tonight i'm seeing "Sex & The City" with a coupla girlfriends. Though I have rather low expectations for this cinematic work, i am happy to get together with friends and so I'm getting in the mood.
First things first...underwear. I looked in my drawer, and searched through a few handfuls before finding the sheer pink Cosabella thong. it's probably the most expensive thong I own. It was a gift. Not sure what's going on top, but I know that Carrie would certainly approve of my foundation.
